Job Summary

The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago is seeking a highly skilled Audio-Visual Systems Specialist to join our team. This role will be responsible for analyzing and recommending improvements to our network audio and video infrastructure, as well as providing technical support for business meetings, conferences, and other live or recorded events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement integrated video communications systems to enhance business efficiency and productivity.
  • Oversee the setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance of multimedia equipment, including video projectors, monitors, audio systems, video cameras, DVDs, and videoconferencing equipment.
  • Provide on-site support during Board Meetings for video, audio, and video streaming.
  • Support all District point-to-point and multi-site videoconference sessions.
  • Manage post-production and final delivery of video products, including study sessions, monthly seminars, and training sessions.
  • Perform general video editing, including evaluation and scene selection, editing programs to specified lengths, and assembling segments for maximum effect.
  • Review videos for quality control and make technical and editorial corrections.
  • Ensure proper connectivity of equipment, networks, and computers to audio-visual systems.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and update the District's streaming video servers and Board meeting audio recording system for podcasts via the District's website.
  • Research and recommend audio-visual equipment and systems components for purchase and deployment.
  • Develop user manuals and conduct training on the use of the District's multimedia and videoconferencing equipment.
  • Maintain related records and logs for needs and trend analysis purposes.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a four-year accredited college or university majoring in information technology, computer science, or a closely related field.
  • Four years of experience in the set-up and design of audio-visual systems in a business environment.

Substitution

  • Additional professional experience directly related to audio-visual equipment set-up, design, and use may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Promotional Requirement

  • Two years of service with the District as an A/V Analyst.
  • Civil service status as an A/V Analyst.
