Job Title: Audio and Visual Telecommunications Specialist

Job Summary:

VARITE INC is seeking a highly skilled Audio and Visual Telecommunications Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the design, installation, and programming of custom audio-video systems for the Money Museum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site surveys and participate in team meetings to understand deliverable requirements and intended system functionality.
  • Respond to requests for modifications and additions to systems, coordinating with the Project Manager to ensure modifications are tracked and cost-evaluation is considered.
  • Lead the redevelopment and migration of existing interactive media content from legacy PC-based systems to BrightSign hardware.
  • Integrate back-end services with public facing interactives and websites using front end code.
  • Identify system design challenges and devise plans to avoid future troubleshooting issues.
  • Share knowledge of current products and various manufacturers.
  • Lead the commissioning of all systems in the Money Museum to ensure proper functioning and performance.
  • Provide training of system operation to Money Museum team and other VARITE INC employees as needed.
  • Contribute to Operations and Maintenance Manuals for the Money Museum.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in human interface design, computer science or related field.
  • 3-5 years of direct experience expertise with user interaction design across diverse platforms.
  • Proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and other web-oriented technologies.
  • Certified Technology Specialist (CTS).

Preferred Skills:

  • Intermediate understanding and capability of programming Audio Visual equipment.
  • Proficiency in AV systems programming language, including Simpl+.
  • Intermediate understanding of IoT, Networking, Switch Configurations, etc.

Additional Skills:

  • Communicates effectively with a bottom line, up front approach.
  • Enjoys discussing the details but makes efficient use of time in meetings.
  • Willingness to share expertise and elaborate to ensure jargon doesn't limit understanding.
  • Project management experience.
  • Collaborative: works well with others and can succeed in a team environment.
  • Ability to work under deadline.
