Job Summary

The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago is seeking a highly skilled Audio-Visual Specialist to provide technical support for business meetings, conferences, training sessions, and other live or recorded events. This role requires a strong understanding of audio-visual equipment, network management, and technical writing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, troubleshoot, and maintain multimedia equipment, including video projectors, monitors, audio systems, video cameras, DVDs, and videoconferencing equipment.
  • Ensure proper connectivity of equipment and computers to audio-visual systems for display.
  • Maintain, configure, and update the District's video hardware and software components, including setting up and supporting videoconference sessions, monthly seminars, workshops, and meetings.
  • Assist with on-site support for all Board Meetings for video and audio-video streaming.
  • Assist with post-production and final delivery of video products, including study sessions, monthly seminars, and training sessions.
  • Assist with general video editing, including evaluation and scene selection, editing programs to specified lengths, and assembling segments for maximum effect.
  • Assist with the support of all District point-to-point and multi-site videoconference sessions.
  • Maintain and update the District's streaming video servers and Board meeting audio recording system for podcasts via the MWRD website, and assist in providing streaming video and audio end-user interface via the website.
  • Maintain related records and documentation, including services rendered and standard operating procedures.
  • Perform duties assigned by supervisor or upon user request with supervisor's approval.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Provide training to users on-site.
  • Provide after-hours and weekend support when required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a four-year accredited college or university majoring in information technology, computer science, or a closely related field.
  • Professional experience directly related to audio-visual equipment set-up and use may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Possession of a bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a closely related field.
  • One year of service with the District as an IT Support Analyst II, IT Support Analyst I, System Support Specialist II, Administrative Assistant, Administrative Specialist, Human Resources Assistant, Secretary, or Senior Administrative Specialist.
  • Civil service status in one of the foregoing classifications.
