Job Overview

Position Summary: We are looking for a skilled and knowledgeable Assistant Controller to oversee the accounting functions of our private equity funds. This role is crucial in managing daily financial operations and will provide opportunities to collaborate with senior management and contribute to key financial strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the capital call and distribution processes.
  • Supervise interim financial and regulatory reporting to investors.
  • Oversee the annual attestation engagement.
  • Support the annual tax return engagement.
  • Conduct research and analysis for various ad hoc projects.
  • Handle cash management tasks, including budgeting and forecasting expenses, as well as managing lines of credit.
  • Regularly evaluate treasury management functions, including the management of bank accounts and user access.
  • Lead a team of professional accountants and coordinate with third-party Fund Administrators.
  • Ensure the establishment of policies, procedures, internal controls, and systems to support operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Vice President, senior leadership, Human Capital, and other operational staff to improve integration of finance and administrative functions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Over 7 years of leadership experience in accounting and finance.
  • CPA or equivalent professional certification is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience in Private Equity Fund Accounting or a related sector.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Proficient in financial software and systems (e.g., Excel, QuickBooks).
  • Exceptional analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of engaging effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a proven history of managing teams successfully.
