About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Vascular Coordinator to join our team at Mount Sinai Health System. As a key member of our vascular lab team, you will be responsible for performing all required ultrasound and clinical evaluations at a technical level requiring limited supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform clinical assessment and diagnostic vascular laboratory examinations.
  • Use cognitive sonographic skills to identify and record appropriate anatomical, pathological, and diagnostic images.
  • Responsible for the safety, mental, and physical comfort of the patient while in the specialist's care.
  • Maintain a daily log of patients seen.
  • Maintain ultrasound equipment and work areas and maintain adequate supplies.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and explain procedures to patients.
  • Assess the patient and correlate the clinical history with the test to be performed.
  • Consult with supervisor when necessary to determine appropriate vascular lab procedure.
  • Consult with referring MD and/or patient chart regarding patient's history when necessary.
Requirements
  • 1 year of clinical experience in a dedicated vascular lab preferred.
  • Ability to operate complex ultrasound equipment, cameras, recorders, and other patient assessment equipment pertinent to department needs.
  • Ability to recognize the significance of all structures visualized on the monitor and differentiate normal from abnormal and recognize artifacts.
  • Ability to understand when to seek advice.
  • Ability to recognize the limitations of electronic equipment.
  • Ability to follow protocols and deviate from normal techniques when clinically necessary.
