Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled physician trained in ophthalmology with subspecialty training in medical and/or surgical retina to provide high-quality patient care and deliver Ophthalmology services, including diagnosis, treatment, coordination of care, preventive care, and health maintenance.

The Ideal Candidate:

Possesses strong clinical skills and experience in treating a wide variety of vitro-retinal conditions.
Demonstrates a patient-centered approach and excellent communication skills.
Is interested in population health management and value-based care.
Is board eligible/board certified in ophthalmology and possesses a current, unrestricted New York State license or is eligible for licensure.
Has completed a medical or medical-surgical retina fellowship, preferably one registered with AUPO-FCC.
Is comfortable with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office.
Responsibilities:

Reviews patient medical history, reports, and examination results.
Performs retinal examinations and orders/interprets tests (OCT, photos, fluorescein angiograms, and other tests as appropriate).
Evaluates, diagnoses, and provides appropriate treatment and patient care for a wide variety of vitro-retinal conditions.
Treats retinal diseases, such as diabetic retinopathy, vascular occlusions, and macular degeneration.
Performs office-based procedures, including intravitreal injections, focal and pan-retinal photocoagulation, and laser of retinal tears.
Surgical retinal specialists perform weekly outpatient surgical procedures, including pars plana vitrectomy, scleral buckling, epiretinal membrane peeling, and macular hole repair.
Prescribes medications and formulates ongoing treatment and disease management plans.
Recommends suitable management for the patient, including preventive health recommendations and habits.
Collaborates with primary care providers and internal and external optometrists and ophthalmologists, including internal virtual consults.
Provides relationship-centered care, taking into account the patient's psychosocial and physical needs.
Maintains complete and accurate medical records.
Communicates effectively with the clinical team to ensure total delivery of quality care.
Participates in medical staff educational programs and meetings.
