Clinical Respiratory Sales Specialist

As a leading provider in the respiratory healthcare sector, we are dedicated to enhancing the lives of patients with complex respiratory conditions through innovative technology and personalized clinical support. Our goal is to empower patients to achieve improved health outcomes in the comfort of their homes.
Our acclaimed Disease Management program has positioned us as the top independent ventilation provider in the United States, showcasing a remarkable 30-day COPD re-admission rate of 5.7%, significantly lower than the industry average of 20-22%. Over 93% of our patients report improved breathing on our treatment plans.
Role Summary:
This field-based position focuses on business development and hands-on clinical sales, requiring a candidate who is a passionate advocate for patients and a positive representative of our organization. Responsibilities include establishing and nurturing relationships with potential and existing referral sources, utilizing clinical and sales expertise to develop innovative strategies that promote our disease management program and respiratory products.
The successful candidate will spend the majority of their time (80% or more) in the field, networking and educating healthcare professionals about the benefits of our program for patients with Chronic Respiratory Failure. Key referral sources include Pulmonologists, Hospitalists, Critical Care Physicians, Case Managers, and Social Workers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote our disease management program to potential and existing referral sources.
- Develop and implement strategic action plans to maintain relationships with current accounts while exploring new market opportunities.
- Deliver educational presentations and in-services to healthcare providers.
- Manage account activities, sales documentation, and territory management.
- Collaborate with clinical and sales teams to enhance the visibility of our home respiratory therapy services.
- Ensure accurate billing and documentation of services, adhering to third-party payor guidelines.
- Be available for patient contact and respond to patient needs promptly.
- Achieve or exceed established sales quotas.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Proven ability to cultivate and maintain strong relationships with referral sources within the assigned territory.
- Effective communication skills with healthcare professionals and patients.
- Ability to independently develop and execute strategies to meet sales objectives.
- Demonstrated urgency and commitment to achieving results.
- Strong organizational and territory management skills.
- Self-motivated and accountable, while being a supportive team player.
- Resourceful problem solver with a track record of success in a fast-paced environment.
- Established connections with Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Hospitalist physicians in the local community.
- Current, valid state driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
- Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policy as a condition of employment.
- Demonstrated sales experience in a healthcare setting, with a focus on physician engagement.
- Minimum of two years of full life cycle healthcare sales experience.
- Previous marketing or clinical liaison experience in LTACH preferred.
- Clinical experience with skills in patient assessment is advantageous.
- Formal sales training is preferred.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- This role operates primarily in the field, engaging with healthcare professionals and referral sources.
