Job Title: Domestic Violence Advocate - Residential Services

SafeHouse Denver is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Domestic Violence Advocate to join our team. As a key member of our Residential Services team, you will provide critical support to survivors of domestic violence, helping them navigate the complexities of crisis intervention, safety planning, and case management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to crisis calls and provide emotional support, crisis intervention, and de-escalation techniques to survivors in need.
  • Conduct initial intakes and assessments to identify the needs and goals of new residents, providing personalized support and guidance throughout their stay.
  • Develop and implement individualized safety plans, connecting residents with community resources and referrals to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Provide short-term individual advocacy, counseling, and crisis intervention to adult residents and children, promoting empowerment and self-sufficiency.
  • Collaborate with Primary Advocates to ensure seamless service delivery and support residents in achieving their goals.
  • Conduct regular safety checks and searches, maintaining a safe and secure residential environment.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Three years of experience in human services or a related field, with a focus on crisis intervention, case management, and advocacy.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Strong technical aptitude and proficiency in utilizing MS Office.
