Job Summary:

To maintain and/or grow revenues with existing and new clients considered to be corporately strategic and important to the viability of the Western Division. This is accomplished by meeting the customers' needs through personalized service and by performing the following duties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Negotiate Major Contracts: Negotiate major contracts which involve detailed work and research. Put together tender packages including rate proposals, company related information, or equipment and financials.
  • Prepare Reports: Prepares reports of business transactions, rate requests, sales leads etc.
  • Presentations and Sales: Doing presentations which involves research and detailed work to emphasize features and related benefits.
  • Customer Relations and Business Development: Travels throughout assigned territories within Canada and the Western United States and calls on high volume, high revenue accounts, as assigned, to maintain and increase business, keep them informed of new services and changes within the company.
  • Stay Informed: Keep up to date on any changes happening with our customers and the competition.
  • Recommendations: Suggest to companies how they can improve the shipping ie. Packaging improvements to reduce claims.
  • Innovative Solutions: Recommend innovative solutions and changes that will reduce costs, save time, improve revenues, make the company more efficient, etc.
  • Revenue Growth: Responsible for approximately $10-15 million gross revenue per year (approximately 100-150 accounts)
Qualifications:
  • Computer Literacy: Must be computer literate - Business applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Suite
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills including proficiency at listening and problem solving
  • Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills
  • Math Skills: Competent math skills
  • Geography: Proficient with geography
  • Flexibility: Must be flexible as job requires being able to deal effectively with changing circumstances, customer demands, last minute requests, deadlines and daily stress.
  • Time Management: Organized and able to manage time well.
