Job Title: Health Underwriter

Job Overview:
The Health Underwriter plays a crucial role in evaluating medical risks associated with a PEO-sponsored medical plan. Operating within established authority limits, this position involves managing tasks that require significant technical expertise and coordination. The underwriter applies underwriting guidelines, rating standards, and carrier regulations to accurately assess medical risk pricing.
  • Gathers and scrutinizes client-specific data to ensure the accuracy of submissions.
  • Works collaboratively with Sales and support teams to compile all essential information for quotations.
  • Calculates rates for intricate group cases through comprehensive analysis.
  • Offers underwriting guidance and training to colleagues and sales personnel.
  • Maintains and updates underwriting systems as necessary.
  • Demonstrates strong multi-tasking capabilities and proficiency in utilizing various systems concurrently.
  • Exhibits a detail-oriented approach and the ability to manage tasks effectively in a dynamic environment.

  • Preferred: 2+ years of experience in insurance carrier underwriting.
  • Preferred: 2+ years of experience in PEO underwriting.
