Position Title: Procurement Management Associate I

Role Summary:

  • As an entry-level professional, you will provide essential support in sourcing and managing procurement processes, focusing on strategies and agreements for lower-value commodities.
  • Your responsibilities will include assisting with cost analysis, conducting make-or-buy assessments, and resolving invoice discrepancies.
  • You will collaborate with Strategic Sourcing to tackle ongoing supplier performance challenges and validate suppliers during the early selection phase.
  • Utilizing the Achieving Excellence framework, you will monitor and enhance supplier performance.
  • This role requires independent judgment, with periodic reviews of your work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement the Order Fulfillment Process (OFP) while engaging in cost-saving initiatives, evaluating supplier quotes, and selecting suppliers based on quality, cost, capability, lead time, and stability.
  • Contribute to resourcing initiatives and make-or-buy decisions, gathering cost data and preparing basic supplier cost analyses.
  • Support the Engineering Change Management (ECM) process to ensure timely and cost-effective design changes and product enhancements.
  • Develop and execute inventory strategies to meet asset management and material flow objectives, addressing shipping, receiving, invoicing, and payment issues to ensure timely supplier payments.
  • Drive continuous improvement in supplier performance and total cost reduction using the Achieving Excellence criteria.
  • Identify and resolve supplier performance issues, collaborating with other departments such as quality and engineering to ensure effective communication.
  • Facilitate the expediting of parts as required.

Work Schedule:

  • Standard hours are Monday to Friday, with potential overtime.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with SAP and Bill of Materials (BOM) structures is preferred.
  • A degree in Supply Management is advantageous, though relevant experience is highly valued. SAP experience is also a plus.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities is essential.
  • Source both experimental and production components, adhering to sourcing guidelines and responding to requests for quotations.
  • Maintain the supply base for assigned commodities, focusing on performance and capacity.
  • Monitor open orders and obtain status updates and confirmations from suppliers.
  • Assist in the execution of builds, managing the order, sourcing, delivery, and shipment of assigned components.

Essential Skills:

  • Experience working in a collaborative team environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • A strong desire to learn and grow professionally.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of manufacturing and commodities.
  • Experience with SAP.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and understand basic Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements.
  • A degree or experience in supply management, engineering, or business is desirable.
