About the Role

AECOM is seeking a skilled Civil Engineer to join our Surface Transportation Department in Colorado Springs, CO. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing transportation projects, including urban and rural roadways, interstate highways, and interchanges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Geometric design of roadways, including horizontal and vertical alignments and models
  • Preparation of design reports, including design study reports and technical memorandums
  • Coordination with project stakeholders, including clients, the public, utility companies, and permitting agencies
  • Plan preparation for roadway plans in accordance with CDOT or local standards
  • Calculation of quantities and estimates for CDOT and local transportation projects
  • Specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise
  • Participation in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables
  • Preparation of technical specification sections
  • Input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements
Requirements
  • BA/BS + 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Preferred qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, 4+ years of previous roadway design experience, Professional Engineering (PE) License or ability to obtain within the first year of employment
