Job Summary

The Medical Front Desk Receptionist will play a critical role in supporting the administrative activities of our facility. This individual will maintain the organization of the office, support the Office Manager, and ensure a warm and welcoming environment for patients and families.

This is a full-time role at 40 hours a week, reporting to the Office Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional patient service, addressing patient concerns and questions in a timely and professional manner
  • Verify patient eligibility and insurance prior to appointment, ensuring seamless billing and payment processes
  • Obtain referrals and insurance authorizations as needed, maintaining accurate records and communicating with patients and providers
  • Maintain patient accounts by recording and updating personal and financial information required for proper insurance billing
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, protecting patient confidentiality and maintaining secure data storage
  • Collect co-pays and co-insurance, as well as past due balances, and set up payment plans as needed
  • Schedule initial and follow-up appointments for physicians, clinicians, and ultrasound labs, ensuring efficient workflow and patient flow
  • Perform other administrative tasks as requested, including ad hoc projects and special assignments
Requirements
  • High School diploma required, Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 1+ years of administrative support experience, with a medical setting preferred
  • Knowledge of multi-line phone systems and Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to maintain a professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous experience with HIPAA, Medicare, and commercial insurance a plus
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a busy medical setting, with a willingness to be available for local and/or regional assignments as needed
