Job Summary

Medline Industries is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented professional to support our sales team in a key role. As a Sales Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing daily quoting and pack sampling, and collaborating with internal and external teams to drive sales growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Customer Service: Partner with sales representatives to ensure all required information is received to begin the quoting process, including customer, IDN, and GPO requirements.
  • Quote Management: Review customer-provided data to determine whether Medline should quote, ultimately driving sales growth and profitability across each business unit.
  • Kitting and Component Management: Use knowledge and skills to determine tray type, component cross-reference, and tray structure, with a full understanding of implications both clinically and internally.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with other divisions, departments, and sales teams to keep quote opportunities moving forward, including internal reviews of cost impact, missing contract prices, and ensuring division minimums are met or offering alternative cost savings opportunities.
  • Education and Training: Educate sales representatives and product managers on the value of custom kitting, costing, pricing, life cycle of kitting, divisional initiatives, and brand preference.
  • Component Sourcing and Validation: Cross-reference and validate data using multiple systems and tools applicable to the division and manufacturing location, identifying components that require sourcing and evaluating whether to source or offer an alternative based on type of item and opportunity.
  • Project Management: Track and maintain details of all open business priorities, status updates, and due dates from beginning to end, responding to issues, questions, communicating, and aligning with sales teams when timelines and strategy require revision.
  • Sample Management: Submit sample requests for components and finished goods, identifying substitutions, requesting inventory from other locations/sources, communicating, and coordinating with needed parties.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with external teams of sales representatives, senior sales specialists, sales management, clinical teams, IDN teams, customers, and vendors, as well as internal teams such as sample room, master data, project teams, peri-op teams, marketing, supply chain, production, warehouse, quality, engineering, and other product divisions.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvement methods within current and new business processes, responsible for BOM management and maintenance to ensure business initiatives are implemented to reduce risk and delay to supply chain consistency.
Requirements:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Work Experience: Previous inside sales, retail, hospitality, data management, operations, medical, or lab background.
  • Skills and Abilities: Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook, with the ability to process all relevant details, understanding, and prioritizing their importance and drawing clear and concise conclusions.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience: Kitting experience preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Quote system, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, SAP, AS400.
