About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Research and Development System Engineer to join our Electrification team at ABB. As a key member of our R&D team, you will be responsible for developing innovative solutions for power conversion and energy storage systems.

Your primary focus will be on creating battery-based energy storage solutions for UPS and microgrids, as well as defining control and communication concepts for microgrid solutions. You will also be responsible for validating and coordinating with different EMS solutions, handling change requests, and managing technical documentation and reports.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in electrical/electronic engineering, with experience in development for power conversion/energy storage systems or microgrid solutions. You should also have experience with control system development, knowledge of relevant industry standards and grid codes, and proficiency in programming and simulation tools like MATLAB.
