Position Overview:

As a Senior Java Software Engineer at General Dynamics Information Technology, you will be instrumental in crafting innovative solutions to intricate challenges. Your expertise will enable you to customize advanced solutions tailored to the distinct needs of our clients. With a focus on application development, you will prioritize the end-user experience while we prioritize your professional advancement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research, design, and modify enterprise-level systems and applications software.
  • Define system scope and objectives through research and analysis to develop or enhance moderately complex information systems.
  • Transform software requirements into functional and maintainable solutions within existing application frameworks.
  • Oversee the product lifecycle: design, development, quality assurance, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Establish and adhere to best practices for application development.
  • Contribute to team performance enhancement and collaboration.
  • Approach problem-solving with creativity and effectiveness.

Qualifications for Success:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.

Experience: 15+ years of relevant experience.

Technical Proficiencies:

  • Front-End Skills: Single Page Applications (ReactJS, JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS, HTML), Responsive Design.
  • Back-End Skills: Microservices, REST, JVM (Java - Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, etc.), Database (Postgres, MySQL, etc.).
  • Build Tools: Maven, Gradle, Grunt, Gulp, Git, focusing on enhancements to large-scale Java/J2EE products.

Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI w/Polygraph

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Documented experience with DevOps and CI/CD processes.
  • Proficient in Amazon Web Services (S3, RDS, EC2, ECS).
  • Experience in an Agile/Scrum development environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Front-End Skills: Angular, Salesforce.
  • Experience with AWS (Lambda, SQS, SNS, CloudFormation, etc.), Docker, Ansible.
  • Familiarity with Jenkins, Artifactory, Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Strong skills in RDBMS DB Schema design and SQL development.
