Position Overview: Land Surveyor / Project Surveyor

Join our Wisconsin Division as a Land Surveyor, contributing to our Civil Engineering team. In this role, you will engage in various field data collection and staking activities, prepare survey drawings, and collaborate with both internal and external clients.

The ideal candidate will possess over 10 years of surveying experience, demonstrating proficiency in areas such as topographic fieldwork, construction inspection surveying, support for field personnel, earthwork volume assessments, drone data collection, boundary monument searches, office data reduction, scheduling assistance, Recorder's Office research, boundary calculations, plat creation, and legal description drafting. Expertise in boundary work, particularly with right-of-way plats, ALTA/ACSM Land Title Surveys, Boundary Plats, and Easement Plats, is highly desirable.

Your Contributions
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to define survey requirements and execute surveys according to established standards and specifications.
  • Conduct necessary research, perform calculations, and analyze measurements for property locations and legal descriptions.
  • Oversee the preparation of final plats and provide updates on project progress, budget, and technical issues. Generate and review survey-related correspondence, assist in data compilation, and ensure quality control.
  • Communicate field issues to the Project Manager, document any out-of-scope work, and participate in contract negotiations.
Qualifications
  • PLS certification in the State of Wisconsin.
  • Associate degree or higher in Survey & Geomatics, Survey Technology, or a related field preferred; HS diploma or GED required.
  • 10+ years of experience in drafting plats and boundary calculations.
  • Experience in processing surveys and completing plats in a WisDOT environment (Civil3D).
  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating within diverse project teams.
  • Strong communication skills with project leaders and clients.
  • Exceptional attention to detail in maintaining clear and organized project records and files.
