X-Ray OR Radiologic Technologist - Full Time or Part Time - Days

As a key member of our imaging team, the X-Ray OR Radiologic Technologist is responsible for conducting high-quality scans in a timely manner, adhering to physician directives and specific protocols. This role involves assisting in the operating room and supporting interventional procedures as required, utilizing diagnostic and CT/MRI technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently operates CT/MRI or X-ray machinery in compliance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
  • Prepares examination rooms with necessary supplies and contrast materials.
  • Communicates effectively with the Radiologist regarding any modifications to protocols and provides patient history.
  • Delivers essential imaging services to support departmental operations while ensuring adherence to safety practices.

Qualifications:

  • ARRT certification in X-ray and other modalities or eligibility for registration.
  • Preferred minimum of one year of experience in patient care within a Radiology setting.
  • Possession of a valid Medical Radiologic Technologist license from the Texas Department of Health.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Availability to participate in departmental on-call rotations and work during holidays as needed.

Position Competencies:

  • Produces high-quality radiographs using appropriate technical parameters and evaluates films for accuracy.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in operating Radiology equipment and ensuring proper exposure.
  • Adheres to radiation safety protocols (ALARA) during all procedures.
  • Conducts routine quality control checks and maintains comprehensive QC logs in accordance with ACR standards.
  • Reviews requisitions and physician orders, ensuring awareness of patient conditions and specific procedural notes.
  • Facilitates patient flow to enhance comfort and efficiency.
  • Establishes priorities and effectively assesses situations to make informed decisions.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of age-specific considerations and risk factors when performing diagnostic procedures.
  • Engages in departmental meetings and continuing education opportunities.
  • Exhibits flexibility in staffing and scheduling to meet departmental needs.
  • Willingness to assist in various sections of the department as necessary for optimal patient care.
  • Complies with all relevant hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Supports the educational development of students in clinical placements.
  • Ensures patient safety and equipment care to minimize risks associated with procedures.
  • Practices aseptic techniques in medical and surgical environments.
  • Assists radiologists with various advanced procedures, including but not limited to arthrograms, myelograms, and biopsies.
