Radiologic Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at the City and County of San Francisco. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using various equipment, including fixed and portable devices. You will work closely with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality images and excellent patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures using fixed and portable equipment, including radiographic, fluoroscopic, and computed tomography (CT) scans.
- Position patients and select technical factors based on knowledge of radiologic science and patient assessment.
- Apply principles of radiation safety to minimize exposure to patients, others, and self.
- Assess patient condition, including stability, pain, and safety, and take action as necessary.
- Document procedures and events in patient medical records and departmental logs.
- Transport patients using gurneys, wheelchairs, and beds.
- Schedule procedures and patients, transfer paper orders into electronic order entry systems, and produce, process, and collate images and paperwork.
- Train student technologists in the science and practice of diagnostic imaging.
- Participate in departmental Quality Improvement efforts.
- Current license issued by the State of California as a Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT).
- Current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- ARRT certification in at least one advanced modality (e.g., Mammography, CT, MRI, Quality Management, Bone Densitometry, Cardiac-Interventional, or Vascular-Interventional Radiography).
- Valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate issued by the American Heart Association.
- Valid permit to use Fluoroscopy equipment issued by the California Department of Health Services, Radiologic Health Branch.
This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively in a team setting and communicate clearly with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
