Job Summary

The Director of Wellness will be responsible for providing medical treatment and personal care services to our residents. This includes administering prescribed medications, monitoring vital signs, and providing assistance with activities of daily living.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct the monitoring of daily tasks and documentation for resident care.
  • Interact with residents, staff, and families to provide excellent customer service.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders.
  • Assist with resident reviews and assessments as needed.
  • Participate in on-call nursing coverage as needed.
  • Monitor PCC Dashboard for completeness and compliance.
  • Provide training and guidance to direct care staff.
  • Utilize equipment such as catheters, pressure relief devices, and oxygen supplies as needed.
  • Collect and transport resident laboratory samples for analysis.
  • Assist with in-service training and clinical education sessions.
  • Communicate effectively with families and physicians regarding resident care.
  • Participate in personal and professional growth opportunities.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse in good standing in the State of Iowa.
  • Valid CPR certification.
  • Ability to comprehend, compose, and speak the English Language.
  • Fluent in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite of programs.

Work Environment

The Director of Wellness will work in a well-lit and ventilated area, with regular interaction with residents, staff, and families. The ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and provide excellent customer service is essential.

Physical Demands

The Director of Wellness will be required to stand, bend, talk, and hear regularly. The ability to walk, use hands and fingers to touch, handle, and feel, and reach with hands and arms is also required. The employee must be able to meet certain physical demands of standing, bending, lifting, stooping, or performing other work requiring physical exertion such as lifting up to 50 pounds.
