Job Summary

The Executive Director is seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Generalist to join the Technology Services team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for implementing new technology, managing servers, network systems, technology security, providing support for IT staff and helpdesk support for end users, and other specific technology areas.

Key Responsibilities

Make recommendations regarding technology projects and initiatives
Plan, test, and implement new systems, including Microsoft Windows and Linux servers.
Implement and manage cloud-based technology, including Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS systems.
Manage a virtualized cluster of hosts and guest servers.
Provide documentation and training for staff and Technology Services.
Ensure reliability of backup systems, manage backup libraries, and perform timely file restores at staff request.

Additional Responsibilities

Provide 24/7 emergency support and off-hours maintenance, as part of a rotating on-call schedule and when deemed necessary for additional projects or back-up coverage.
Maintain and improve network security including antivirus systems and software patching while following principles of design simplicity.
Provide all levels of helpdesk support for EDI staff, particularly the Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft RDS remote access, web browsers and general Windows desktop support.

Requirements

3-5 years proven work experience, degree in MIS or Computer Science preferred.
Experience with Windows desktop and server environments.
Certification in VMware or Azure preferred.
Must be able to support MS Office Suite of applications.
Must have the ability to communicate clearly and follow up with both technical and non-technical staff.
Must have excellent problem-solving skills and a positive helpful demeanor.

Work Environment

This position is located in downtown Milwaukee, WI and a minimum of two days onsite in the office (including Wednesday as an all-staff-in-office day) are a requirement of the role.
