Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive HR Manager to join our team at Amelia Canty Consulting. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in shaping our HR systems, procedures, and processes to support our growth and success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective Employee Relations, Compensation and Benefits, and HR policies, programs, and practices to drive business results.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state HR regulations, maintaining up-to-date policies and procedures.
  • Design and implement company-wide Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives to foster a more inclusive workplace culture.
  • Conduct thorough investigations, maintain accurate records, and represent the organization externally.
  • Provide education and guidance on HR policies and procedures to employees and management.
  • Drive employee retention and satisfaction through targeted initiatives and programs.

Workforce Management:

  • Develop training materials and performance management programs to clarify job roles and expectations.
  • Train managers to coach and implement corrective or disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Coordinate management-employee meetings, address grievances, and provide guidance to both employees and supervisors.
  • Establish a robust onboarding process and ongoing training to ensure employees feel prepared and supported.
  • Manage performance management activities, including goal setting and feedback.
  • Create clear paths for growth and promotions to enhance employee satisfaction and long-term commitment.
  • Conduct exit interviews to identify and address recurring issues impacting retention.

Recruitment:

  • Establish a standardized hiring and onboarding process.
  • Create an interviewing program, counseling managers on candidate selection.
  • Manage the staffing process, including recruiting, interviewing, phone screening, reference checks, hiring, and onboarding.
  • Ensure job descriptions are up-to-date and compliant with local, state, and federal regulations.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Design and manage a salary structure that balances competitiveness with cost management.
  • Create and implement employee benefits programs using market trends and analysis.
  • Manage the day-to-day administration of employee benefits, including enrollment, updates, and addressing employee inquiries.
  • Ensure all compensation and benefits practices comply with federal, state, and local regulations.

Policies and Procedures:

  • Design and implement a filing and retrieval system for HR records.
  • Manage and maintain the Employee Handbook.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in progressively responsible human resource roles.
  • 3+ years of experience in Labor Relations and Employee Relations.
  • 3+ years of experience in a supervisory role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HR Lab experience.
  • PHR/SPHR certification.
  • 3-5 years of HR experience, preferably in a start-up or biotech environment.
  • Experience with Rippling HR/Payroll system.
