The Traffic & Advanced Mobility Business Unit at Mead & Hunt is seeking a driven individual to join our team, working on a variety of projects that will positively impact both your career and the communities we serve.


Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities will include:


Developing a traffic and mobility practice in Ohio, which encompasses responding to Requests for Proposals, engaging with clients during project meetings, building strong professional relationships, and presenting at technical conferences.


Collaborating with colleagues in the Civil Engineering and Traffic & Advanced Mobility Business Units across various regions to secure projects and deliver exceptional results.


Preparing designs, specifications, and cost estimates for traffic signals, signage, pavement markings, temporary traffic control, roadway lighting, and communication systems.


Conducting traffic engineering operations analysis and modeling using tools such as Synchro, VISSIM, and HCS.


Performing traffic safety studies, analyzing crash data, and evaluating new technologies to enhance traffic safety and operations on existing roadways.


Carrying out field observations of traffic conditions, collecting traffic data, and assessing Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) assets while providing actionable recommendations.


Drafting technical reports and memos to document findings and recommendations.


Some travel may be required.


Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil or electrical engineering.

A minimum of 6 years of relevant professional experience.

A PE license in the state of Ohio.

A valid driver's license.

Preferred qualifications include:

Strong public speaking abilities and excellent writing skills.

Experience in traffic engineering and/or Intelligent Transportation Systems.

Familiarity with Synchro, HCS, and MUTCD.

Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification.

Roadway Safety Professional (RSP) certification.

IMSA certification and practical experience with traffic signal cabinets, ATMS software, and traffic signal controllers.

A Master's degree in engineering is a plus.
