Job Title: Recreation Therapist

At East Boston Neighborhood Health Center, we are seeking a highly motivated and creative Recreation Therapist to join our team. As a Recreation Therapist, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing recreational activities that promote physical, emotional, and social well-being for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a monthly calendar of recreational activities that meet the diverse needs of our patients.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure that activities are tailored to individual patient needs and goals.
  • Plan and organize outings and field trips to community events and incorporate them into the activities calendar.
  • Train and supervise personal care assistants (PCAs) in new activities and assign them to activity and personal care responsibilities.
  • Conduct morning huddles to ensure effective communication and coordination among team members.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or a related field.
  • At least five years of experience working in a social or recreational program, with a focus on activities planning and management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations and work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Computer literacy and ability to utilize various software programs to document and communicate clinical and non-clinical information.
