Campus Police Officer Job Description

Glenville State University is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Campus Police Officer to join our team. As a Campus Police Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our faculty, staff, students, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patrol campus buildings and grounds to prevent and respond to incidents
  • Enforce laws, regulations, and university policies
  • Provide crowd control and direct traffic during special events
  • Investigate complaints and incidents
  • Make arrests and testify in court as necessary
  • Operate communications dispatch unit
  • Perform related duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in criminal justice or related field
  • Minimum 6 months work experience as a certified police officer
  • Valid/current driver's license
  • WV law enforcement certification or equivalent
  • Ability to work varying and rotating shifts
