Job Overview

The Financial Operations Manager serves as the financial leader within Edge Electric, Inc., managing all accounting functions and ensuring the precision of financial documentation, adherence to legal standards, and the execution of effective financial policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervising the creation and assessment of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with established accounting standards.
  • Overseeing cash flow management, job cost accounting, and financial analysis to facilitate informed strategic decisions.
  • Guaranteeing timely and accurate financial reporting through monthly entries that align with the company's financial closing timeline.
  • Leading accounting operations, including managing ledger accounts, receivables, payables, and payroll functions.
  • Establishing and upholding internal controls to protect company assets and ensure the integrity of financial transactions and reporting.
  • Collaborating with the CFO for external audits, supplying necessary documentation, and implementing suggested improvements.
  • Reviewing, reconciling, and managing financial statements while reporting discrepancies to the management team.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal reporting requirements and tax obligations.
  • Developing and mentoring the accounting team, identifying training needs, and overseeing their professional growth.

Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Skills

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 10 years of accounting experience, including 3-5 years in a managerial role within the construction sector.

Preferred:

  • Valid Driver's License.

  • In-depth understanding of construction accounting practices, including job costing and percentage of completion accounting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Procore, and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and detail-oriented capabilities.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and meet deadlines.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.

Work Environment & Conditions

  • Travel may be necessary for business meetings and audits, estimated at 10-20%.
  • Extended hours and overtime may be required to fulfill workload demands.
  • This position is primarily office-based, involving prolonged periods of sitting and computer work.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 15 lbs.
