Biological Technologies Principal Scientist

About the Role:The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and validating biochemical, immunochemical, and cell-based assays for CMC technical development of clinical through launch-phase biologics products. This will involve collaborating with multidisciplinary and cross-functional teams to develop novel cell-based potency methods for products with complex mechanisms of action in support of process development, characterization, formulation screens, and GMP quality control of product release and stability.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and optimize biochemical, immunochemical, and cell-based assays for CMC technical development.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary and cross-functional teams to develop novel cell-based potency methods.
- Author test procedures, technical reports, regulatory filings, and responses to Health Authority Q&A.
- Summarize and present data, and participate in group meetings and/or project teams.
- Develop data analysis approaches, routine lab maintenance, and equipment qualification.
- Support inspection readiness with other groups/sites.
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual with a PhD in Biological Sciences, a strong understanding of cell biology and/or immunology, and a minimum of 5 years of industry experience. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the development, performance, and troubleshooting of biochemical/immunochemical and cell-based assays, as well as strong attention to detail, effective verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Relocation benefits are available for this position, and the expected salary range is $119,600 to $222,000, based on the primary location of South San Francisco, CA. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.
