The Lead Construction Superintendent plays a crucial role in the overall management, planning, and execution of construction projects. Collaborating closely with Project Managers, this position emphasizes safety and quality, overseeing all on-site personnel and subcontractors to ensure that daily operations align with contractual obligations, timelines, and financial parameters. Frequent travel may be required for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain comprehensive records and generate reports related to personnel, production, project logs, and other operational metrics.
  • Oversee and coordinate daily field operations, ensuring objectives and timelines are met.
  • Analyze construction documents to ascertain requirements and devise effective procedures.
  • Ensure job site safety through regular inspections, training sessions, and consistent communication with staff and subcontractors.
  • Monitor project progress and site activities, reviewing team processes to guarantee consistency, efficiency, and quality outcomes.
  • Provide mentorship and development opportunities for team members.
  • Guide Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, and field staff in executing work, fostering relationships, and clearly communicating expectations regarding schedules, methods, policies, and standards.
  • Track project schedules and budgets, collaborating with Superintendents to maintain updates and coordinate recovery plans with subcontractors as needed. Regularly meet with staff and subcontractors to address progress, challenges, and facilitate the removal of obstacles to project completion.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • 7-10 years of experience as a Superintendent on construction projects, or at least 1 year as a Senior Superintendent.
  • In-depth knowledge of scheduling, cost management, and safety protocols.
  • Comprehensive understanding of various construction trades, including carpentry, concrete, structural steel, and interior finishes.
  • Proven experience in managing performance and leading diverse field teams.
  • Proficient in general computer skills (MS Office, Procore, Scheduling software).
  • Valid Driver's License is mandatory.

Environment: Work is conducted primarily in both indoor and outdoor settings, with exposure to varying weather conditions and travel between sites.

Physical: The role necessitates sufficient physical ability and mobility to operate in an office and field environment (construction site); the ability to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods; frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, twisting, grasping, and repetitive hand movements; the capacity to lift, carry, push, or pull moderate weights up to 50 lbs without assistance and more than 50 lbs with assistance; operation of assigned equipment and vehicles; and effective verbal communication to exchange information.

Vision: Normal visual range with or without correction.

Hearing: Normal audio range with or without correction.
