Core Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and enforce safety protocols among workers and subcontractors.
  • Demonstrate experience in general contracting, including various construction disciplines.
  • Manage and occasionally assist with rough carpentry tasks, including:
    • Foundation and wall layout
    • Deck construction
    • Wood blocking
    • Frame, door, and window installation
    • Hardware installation
    • Safety guard rail installation
    • Minor formwork for concrete
    • General labor as required
    • Site cleanup and breakdown
    • Installation of miscellaneous accessories
    • Minor demolition tasks
  • Lead by example when necessary.
  • Review construction packages and specifications.
  • Monitor and approve cost and schedule variances.
  • Pre-approve weekly invoices and material tickets for assigned projects.
  • Manage multiple projects or labor crews effectively.
  • Schedule and direct daily work activities to meet project objectives related to cleanliness, safety, cost, schedule, quality, and process.
  • Maintain daily documentation, including timecards, field reports, schedule updates, and correspondence.
  • Collaborate with city officials to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Oversee subcontractor activities.
  • Procure necessary materials and equipment to ensure a safe and efficient construction site.
  • Interpret construction plans and specifications, updating as necessary.
  • Manage construction schedules effectively.
  • Provide intensive support as needed.
  • Possess the ability to lift 60 lbs without assistance.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience as an assistant superintendent, with at least 5 years of overall construction experience.
