Position Overview
The AV Systems Commissioning Engineer plays a crucial role in the final evaluation and commissioning of sophisticated Audio-Visual systems during and after the construction phase. This position involves providing both technical and managerial guidance on significant tasks or technology projects, as well as establishing objectives and plans that align with project goals.

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Project Manager to deliver documented test results from system evaluations and commissioning processes. Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Interpreting electronic schematics and architectural designs.
  • Conducting point-to-point functionality tests of systems.
  • Reviewing the project Scope of Work (SOW) to ensure installation quality and completeness.
  • Testing integrated systems and troubleshooting AMX/Crestron and DSP systems.
  • Field installation of control programs (AMX/Crestron) with upload and download capabilities.
  • Writing code for DSP systems.
  • Making minor programming adjustments under the guidance of an engineer or programmer.
  • Fine-tuning audio-visual systems to guarantee optimal performance.
  • Configuring IP addressable devices for network communication.
  • Providing client training and completing job documentation as necessary.
  • Acting as a customer liaison in the absence of the Project Manager.
  • Creating, tracking, and finalizing a project punch list.
  • Willingness to travel to various job sites as required.

Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with internal teams, clients, and colleagues professionally.
  • Proven business writing capabilities.
  • Proficiency with testing and calibration equipment.
  • Support for user acceptance testing.
  • Basic programming skills (AMX/Crestron) for modifications and troubleshooting.
  • Aptitude for diagnosing complex system issues.
  • Knowledge of advanced signal flow for audio, video, and control systems.
  • Understanding of IP networking.
  • Advanced proficiency in PC applications.
  • Excellent multitasking abilities while adapting to shifting priorities.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • A valid Driver's License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets company standards.
  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Physical capability to climb ladders up to 35 feet and lift equipment, tools, and materials.

Preferred Qualifications
While not mandatory, the following qualifications are advantageous:

  • Formal education in Electronics or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in AV Installation.
  • A four-year degree or military experience may be considered in lieu of job experience.
  • Experience with Enterprise VC solutions (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Bluejeans, Cisco Telepresence, etc.) in both hardware and software.
  • AVIXA General CTS (Certified Technical Specialist) certification.
