As a Senior Electrical Systems Commissioning Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful commissioning of electrical systems within critical infrastructure projects. Your expertise will be essential in various sectors, including healthcare facilities, large-scale buildings, and mission-critical environments such as data centers and telecommunications hubs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in daily commissioning meetings to discuss ongoing activities and strategies.
- Execute equipment pre-commissioning protocols and develop comprehensive standard operating procedures (SOPs) and methods of procedures (MOPs).
- Create and maintain detailed commissioning documentation and logs to track project progress.
- Prepare and present commissioning test procedures and detailed reports, highlighting recommendations for enhancing operational efficiency, functional checklists, and identified deficiencies.
- Review design specifications, drawings, and equipment submissions to ensure compliance with commissioning standards.
- Conduct functional testing for various electrical systems, including distribution networks, switchboards, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), power distribution units (PDUs), static transfer switches (STS), and backup generators.
- Validate test report outcomes and assist in troubleshooting any issues with commissioned equipment.
- Utilize power quality analyzers, disturbance analyzers, data loggers, and other testing instruments effectively.
- Perform integrated system testing and load bank testing, compiling all results for comprehensive analysis.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in the electrical commissioning field, particularly within mission-critical environments.
- A Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
- Experience in complex facility projects or mission-critical environments is highly advantageous.
- Strong communication skills to interface effectively with clients, contractors, and equipment vendors.
- Familiarity with IEEE standards and protocols is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of system design principles is beneficial.
- Possession of commissioning certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license is desirable.
Work Environment:
This role offers a fully remote work setting with an expectation of 60-65% travel throughout the year, including extended on-site assignments as necessary.
