Job Title: Senior Director for Advancement

Join the University of Washington's Advancement team as a Senior Director for Advancement. This is a full-time, permanent position that offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the university's mission.

About the Role:

The Senior Director for Advancement will serve as a high-level, key strategic leader responsible for developing and executing strategies to solicit significant gifts in support of the College of the Environment. This role will collaborate with the Associate Dean for Advancement, academic leaders, and volunteers to design and implement development programs that sustain significant gift identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and facilitate relationships with donors who have the capacity to make significant gifts to the College of the Environment and the University.
  • Build and sustain long-term partnerships and trust while aligning donor passion and goals with those of the University.
  • Manage a portfolio of prospects, with an emphasis on significant capacity-level gifts.
  • Generate new leads and qualify gift prospects and planned gifts from research, prospect tracking tools, donor base, faculty networks, and fundraising colleagues.
  • Prepare gifts and ensure accurate and complete record-keeping and relevant donor acknowledgements.
Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree and at least six years of experience in development/advancement or a related field.
  • In-depth understanding of donor strategies that best serve the fundraising mission.
  • Experience leading, mentoring, managing, or developing staff and teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Dedication to the College and University's mission and vision in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
