Jennison Associates is a global investment management firm with over $200 billion in Assets under Management spanning across a range of various equity and fixed income investment strategies.

We are seeking an HR Business Partner to utilize their knowledge of recruiting, employment law, employee relations as well as analytical skills to support clients in our New York and Boston offices.

The ideal candidate will be an exceptionally driven generalist who will be challenged to think creatively to drive results to achieve strategic business goals.

This individual will work closely with Managers to understand their needs and execute innovative hiring strategies to hire top talent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage and manage relationships with a broad client group providing guidance and support on talent related items
  • Maintain knowledge of client group functions including what service they provide as well as any recent changes or happenings in their area
  • Work with senior members of the HR team and management on employee relations issues, including disciplinary and performance related problems, investigations, and terminations
  • Conduct and monitor exit interviews and new employee "check-ins". Summarize findings and provide feedback to department head, hiring manager and the HR team. Analyze data and make recommendations based on trends
  • Assist in coaching managers through change management including having difficult conversations; provide talking points
  • Assist in coaching managers on effective people management including development planning; offer guidance on how to lead successful teams
  • Actively partner with managers to ensure periodic updates of job descriptions, including essential job responsibilities, qualifications, and skills
  • Assist with the annual performance review and promotions process
  • Launch 360 reviews and provide summary reports to managers
  • Assist with the annual summer internship program
  • Responsible for launching mandatory training including annual harassment training
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws and regulations
  • Own contingent worker process in partnership with Finance department
  • Serve as a point of contact to employees for general human resources support
  • Assist with the process of negotiating and executing vendor agreements and rates for all consultants/temps
  • Maintain records and assist with testing modules within HRIS system as needed
  • Ad hoc projects as needed

Talent Acquisition Function:

  • Handle all aspects of recruiting for FTE, Temps and Consultants, including sourcing via LinkedIn as well as diverse organizations and universities, managing candidate experience, interviewing and hiring top talent
  • Negotiate final offers and maintain contact with candidate through start date ensuring candidates and hiring managers have the best possible onboarding experience
  • Assist with the on-boarding process, including entry into HR system, assisting managers with plans for employee's first day/week and continuing relationship with new hire as the HR contact; continuously improve process to create efficiencies
  • Develop and maintain contacts with schools, alumni groups and other organizations to source specialized and diverse candidate pools
  • Research and understand industry recruiting trends and best practices, present recommendations and learnings to better enhance the Talent Acquisition function
  • Leverage recruiting metrics, including agency performance and applicant flow stats to provide insight into impact of processes and partnerships
  • Maintain up to date records within our recruitment system including applicant tracking

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3+ years of professional experience in Human Resources preferably including recruiting, employment law and employee relations
  • Experience within asset management is preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Proven relationship management skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills (verbal and written)
  • Positive attitude, known for delivering high quality results
  • Proven ability to maintain high level of integrity
  • Ability to multitask and support different functions at one time while remaining organized and flexible
  • Ability to thrive in an evolving environment with competing challenges
  • Collaborative and team-oriented nature
  • Previous experience using LinkedIn for recruitment of high potential talent with proven success
  • Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of human resources work

The base salary range for this role is $95,000 to $125,000. Individual salaries for this role may vary based on various factors including but not limited to, years of experience, range in corporate level, candidate skills, and geographic location.

Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including but not limited to, individual and organizational performance.
