Responsibilities
  • Oversee the installation of roofing systems using TPO, EPDM, PVC, and similar materials. This may include applying materials to roofs, sidings, and walls for binding, sealing, insulating, or soundproofing.
Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Experience: 1-3 years in roofing.
  • Valid Driver's License.
Skills and Competencies
  • Understanding of safety protocols and procedures to develop a safety plan, including toolbox talks and safety meetings.
  • Ability to calculate and manage labor forecasts, material storage, and requirements.
  • Proficient in reading shop drawings and replicating manufacturing details for roof and wall layouts.
  • Expertise in cutting, shaping, fitting, joining, and installing various construction materials.
  • Manage material inventory effectively.
  • Knowledgeable in installing pipe boots, ridge/hip caps, and other roofing components.
  • Ability to install counter flashing, coping, fascia, gutters, and related items.
  • Experience in installing crickets, chimney flashing, and performing soldering tasks.
  • Capable of completing timesheets, requisitions, and job reports.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to work collaboratively and take corrective actions when necessary.
  • Ability to train and supervise crew members and subcontractors to achieve quality and production targets.
  • Engage with general contractors and clients as needed.
Key Duties
  • Review job files and shop drawings with management, including scope of work, materials ordered, delivery schedules, and labor budgets.
  • Ensure proper safety measures and equipment are utilized on-site; the supervisor is ultimately accountable for these aspects.
  • Support and guide the crew daily regarding safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization on the job site.
  • Monitor and maintain equipment, ensuring regular upkeep.
  • Prepare and submit daily reports on job progress, challenges, and timesheets as directed.
  • Ensure quality control on each project, including checking for water tightness and proper job site cleanup.
  • Install, repair, or replace single-ply roofing systems using waterproof materials.
  • Fit and install various roofing materials to ensure proper sealing and insulation.
  • Utilize tools effectively to cover roofs and walls with diverse materials.
  • Operate vehicles and equipment as necessary.
  • Provide training and mentorship to other team members.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Capable of using ladders, scaffolds, and stairways.
  • Must be able to climb, lift, balance, walk, and handle materials.
  • Requires strength and endurance to perform physical tasks consistently.
  • Ability to see details at close range.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive movements, including bending, twisting, and lifting.
  • Ability to regularly lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
