Hourly compensation for Registered Nurses: $40.18 - $62.31/hour

  • Evening Shift Differential: $3.00/hour
  • Night Shift Differential: $4.00/hour
  • Day Shift Weekend Differential: $2.90/hour
  • Evening Shift Weekend Differential: $5.90/hour
  • Night Shift Weekend Differential: $6.90/hour
  • Charge Nurse Differential: $1.00/hour

Key Responsibilities

Deliver safe and effective nursing care to a diverse patient demographic.

Collaborate as a vital member of the healthcare team, engaging closely with patients and their families.

The 7 EAST MOTT unit is a 32-bed acute care facility specializing in pediatric hematology, oncology, and bone marrow transplants, catering to patients from infancy to young adulthood. Common diagnoses include sickle cell disease, leukemia, lymphoma, and solid tumors. Ongoing education includes a Chemotherapy Certification course and an intensive eight-day Bone Marrow Transplant course.

Nursing Specific Information
Salary & Nursing Framework Level:
This position is classified under Nursing Framework LEVEL C. Actual level and salary will be determined upon hiring. Nursing Framework levels range from A to F. Candidates must meet required qualifications to be considered for an interview.

Applicants who have previously left the bargaining unit must include employment dates on their resume.

Positions with fewer than 20 hours/week may be combined.

Required Qualifications

Current Michigan RN license is mandatory for all candidates who have passed the NCLEX. Graduate Nurse applicants will also be considered, with a 45-day period from hire to successfully pass the NCLEX for Michigan RN licensure.

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in oncology

Work Schedule

Hours: 32 hours per week (0.8 FTE)

Shift/Hours:

Nights; 8 and 12-hour shifts; Monday through Friday with rotating weekends.

Location:

Mott Children's Hospital - 7 East, Pediatric Cancer Unit.

All new hires may be required to float to designated units during low census periods.

This position is governed by the collective bargaining agreement between the University of Michigan and the Michigan Nurses Association, which addresses all matters related to wages, benefits, hours, and other employment conditions.
