What You'll Do

As an Operational Excellence Coordinator at Mid American, you will undertake specialized operational tasks and intricate functions to guarantee precise, efficient, timely, and confidential services and support for our members, various departments, and branches. You will also play a vital role in fostering a positive workplace atmosphere and enhancing the Mid American Credit Union reputation through courteous, respectful, and effective teamwork and communication. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as a subject matter expert for electronic services, including card services, shared branch activities, and remote deposit capture. You will maintain proficiency in card processing systems and assist with system upgrades and new product introductions.
  • Providing expert assistance to branches and departments for complex account inquiries, including tax-favored accounts, trust and business accounts, powers of attorney, decedent accounts, and non-standard documentation.
  • Conducting research and communicating with third-party vendors to resolve staff and member inquiries related to deposit operations. You will assist with changes, upgrades, and the development of new products.
  • Managing processes related to card and electronic activity disputes and fraud, collaborating with staff and members to resolve issues.
  • Performing BSA-related functions to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Enhancing staff knowledge and efficiency by clarifying processes for staff, supervisors, and trainers based on identified processing issues. You will actively engage in operations change management and training initiatives.
  • Executing daily, monthly, and year-end tasks, including error corrections, IRS record balancing, year-end reconciliation, regulatory reporting, and member notifications.
  • Conducting quality assurance tasks as assigned, such as address change verification, new account opening checks, and verification of tax-favored transactions.

What You Need to Get the Job Done
  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude and the ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Customer service experience with the skills necessary to deliver exceptional service, including communication, empathy, patience, and organization.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience: Six months to two years in a similar or related role, including time in preparatory positions.
  • Proficient knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Outlook software (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
  • A significant level of trust and diplomacy is essential to be an effective subject matter expert in this role, involving sensitive and confidential communications with members, colleagues, and external vendors.
