Hub Group is seeking a skilled Freight Handler Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient loading and unloading of commercial trailers, as well as the accurate tracking and preparation of freight for shipment.
Key Responsibilities- Loading and Unloading: Safely load and unload trailers using equipment such as hand trucks, pallet jacks, and forklifts.
- Freight Tracking: Use handheld scanners to efficiently track and maneuver freight through our distribution network.
- Documentation Verification: Verify documentation and condition of freight to ensure quality standards are achieved.
- Equipment Operation: Obtain certification and safely operate forklifts and other machinery as required.
- Physical Demands: Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 90 pounds.
- Communication and Problem-Solving: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Team Player: Strong team player that thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility: Must be flexible to work weekends and overtime as needed.
- Knowledge and Certifications: Forklift and general freight handling knowledge are a plus, and must be 18 or older.
