As an Educational Support Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to provide tailored supervision and instruction to designated students while offering additional assistance to the core classroom team.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Collaborating with students to enhance their community, vocational, leisure, domestic, academic, and social skills.
  • Implementing educational programs (including both on-site and community-based instruction) and behavioral intervention strategies in alignment with the objectives of the Individualized Education Programs (IEP) and related plans.
  • Conducting job coaching duties as required, assisting in the training of students at various job sites to promote appropriate work behaviors and specific employment skills.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of student behavior as per school protocols; reporting observations to relevant staff and providing recommendations based on these observations.
  • Assisting in the preparation of behavioral reports and daily activity logs as necessary.
  • Upholding the confidentiality of student information and records at all times.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Active Paraprofessional and/or PPS Certification preferred.
  • Previous experience working with children, particularly in an educational or classroom environment.
  • Experience with students in a special education setting is preferred.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and apply basic mathematical concepts.
  • Comfortable driving and/or accompanying students in a van before and/or after school.
  • Valid CA Driver's License.
  • Proficient in computer software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
