Position Overview

Radford University is seeking a dedicated professional for the role of Global Education Program Manager within the Center for Global Education and Engagement. This position is pivotal in overseeing a variety of international education initiatives and ensuring a comprehensive support system for students participating in global programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the management of diverse international education programs, including semester exchanges, summer sessions, faculty-led initiatives, internships, and affiliate programs.
  • Provide expert guidance to students regarding global education opportunities, including program selection, academic considerations, financial planning, visa processes, and health and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with faculty to design and implement both existing and new faculty-led programs in alignment with institutional policies.
  • Engage with campus stakeholders to enhance the student experience during their international education journey.
  • Incorporate best practices for diversity and inclusion into all advising and support services.
  • Review and process applications, ensuring the preparation and certification of necessary documentation for partner institutions.
  • Conduct pre-departure orientations and re-entry programs to support students before and after their international experiences.
  • Maintain current and accurate program information for promotional and communication purposes.
  • Facilitate communication with advising offices, academic departments, faculty, and staff to disseminate information about global education opportunities.
  • Deliver presentations and information sessions to promote international education experiences to various audiences.
  • Participate in university-wide events to advocate for study abroad initiatives.
  • Conduct international site visits and attend relevant conferences to enhance program offerings.
  • Manage the enrollment process for international health insurance for students and staff traveling abroad.
  • Act as the primary contact for Fulbright initiatives on campus.
  • Oversee the administration of the Terra Dotta system for study abroad management.
  • Lead the Education Abroad Advisor Council and undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with experience in international education, student services, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational abilities with a proven track record of managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion in achieving program objectives.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the capacity to build relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact professionally with international partners.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as necessary.
  • Capability to travel both domestically and internationally.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in public speaking and presenting.
  • Background in living or studying abroad.
  • Proficiency in a foreign language.
  • Familiarity with the Terra Dotta software system.

Compensation
The hiring range for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience.
