Job Overview:
The Commonwealth of Virginia invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of Global Education Program Manager within the Center for Global Education and Engagement. The responsibilities of the Global Education Program Manager encompass the following:

Oversee all global education initiatives, including semester-long programs, summer sessions, exchange opportunities, faculty-led trips, internships, and affiliate programs. Provide guidance to students regarding global education options, program choices, academic considerations, financial aspects, visa regulations, health and safety protocols, and administrative procedures. Collaborate with faculty to design and execute both ongoing and new faculty-led and tailored programs in accordance with established policies. Engage with campus stakeholders throughout a student's global education journey. Incorporate best practices for diversity and inclusion into advising techniques. Evaluate applications, including the preparation and certification of documents for partner institutions. Conduct pre-departure orientations and re-entry programs for students participating in global education. Maintain current program information for promotional and communication purposes. Liaise with advising offices, academic colleges, departments, faculty, and staff to disseminate information and updates regarding programs abroad. Facilitate presentations and information sessions for diverse audiences to promote global educational experiences. Participate in university-wide initiatives to market study abroad opportunities, including orientation events, open houses, and athletic activities. Undertake international site visits to partner institutions and attend international education conferences as budget and schedule permit. Manage the international health insurance enrollment process for students and staff traveling abroad. Act as the primary campus contact for Fulbright programs. Oversee and maintain the Terra Dotta system for study abroad management. Chair the Education Abroad Advisor Council (EAAC). Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Familiarity with global education programs, standards, and practices in higher education. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively. Proven ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion in achieving program objectives and adhering to policies. Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Professional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with study abroad representatives, faculty, and students. Competence in communicating with international partners, including non-native English speakers. Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends. Ability to travel domestically and internationally. Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in public speaking. Background in living or studying abroad. Proficiency in a foreign language. Knowledge of the Terra Dotta software system.
