SUMMARY
The Culinary Service Assistant facilitates communication between servers and the kitchen to ensure timely service. Responsibilities include delivering meals to servers or directly to patrons and performing specific tasks as assigned by a supervisor. This role promotes and adheres to LJBTC, Inc.'s Signature Service standards, ensuring an exceptional experience for our members and guests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Communicates orders to the kitchen and serves courses from the kitchen and bar.
- Ensures all dishes are garnished according to the kitchen manager's specifications.
- Monitors diners to respond to additional requests and to determine when meals are finished.
- Assists in clearing all china, glassware, and silverware from the dining area.
- Prepares soup, tosses salads, brews coffee, and performs other services as dictated by restaurant practices.
- Helps clear and reset tables after each course.
- Completes assigned side work before opening and thoroughly finishes all closing tasks.
- Other responsibilities may be assigned.
The Culinary Service Assistant will elevate the guest experience by ensuring their needs are met promptly. This role allows servers to concentrate on other guest requirements and aids kitchen staff by preventing congestion in the food line.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A one-year certificate from a college or technical school; or three to six months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings to customers, clients, and other employees.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to address problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess and maintain a current Food Handlers Card..

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The pace is generally moderate and may be quite fast.

SCHEDULING
This company operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Shifts will generally be rotated as much as possible to be fair to everyone. At times it may be necessary to move you from your accustomed shift if business or task assignments demand. In addition, it should be understood that business needs determine the number of hours that you work.
