Job Summary:
As a Director in the Hotel Franchise Finance group, you will be responsible for executing the division's strategic plan and leading a team of Underwriters and Portfolio Managers. You will work closely with Loan Originators to expand market share, grow the loan portfolio, and deepen relationships with customers. This involves ensuring the group sources, underwrites, and maintains well-structured hotel loans, primarily originated to be held on the bank's balance sheet.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Head of Hotel Franchise Finance in executing the platform's strategic plan and supporting the team's efforts to grow the loan portfolio.
  • Oversee a team responsible for loan underwriting, portfolio management, and loan closing.
  • Work with Loan Originators/Relationship Managers to discuss lending prospects, customers, business plans, loan terms, and strategy.
  • Monitor the loan portfolio and work with the Relationship Manager, Portfolio Manager, and Credit personnel to proactively address deteriorating loan performance and mitigate risk from market developments.
  • Execute the tactical strategy outlined by the Head of Franchise Finance regarding hotel loan pitches and negotiation of term sheets and loan documents.
  • Assist with the credit structuring process, customer assessment, and presentation to senior and divisional loan committees.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate collection of regular loan reporting data from borrowers.
  • Foster strong, healthy working relationships with executive and senior leaders in partner departments and third-party services.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and ten (10) or more years of related experience and/or training; or a combination of experience and education related to the finance industry.
  • Advanced knowledge of hotel loan underwriting and portfolio management.
  • Advanced knowledge of commercial credit and loan structuring, pricing dynamics, and market-specific awareness.
  • Knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management, and/or other commercial banking products and services.
  • Knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules, and regulations, industry standards, and practices.
  • Strong speaking and writing skills for internal and external audiences.
