Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Nurse II to join our team in the Behavioral Health Emergency Department at UNC Hospitals. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care, collaborate with colleagues, and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide competent clinical nursing care to patients with complex mental health needs, utilizing the nursing process and evidence-based practices.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring patient-centered and family-centered care.
  • Participate in education and training programs to enhance your skills and knowledge, staying up-to-date with best practices in mental health nursing.
  • Contribute to a culture of safety and quality, identifying and reporting concerns, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and colleagues, promoting open communication and respect.
Requirements
  • Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
  • One year of nursing experience, preferably in a behavioral health or emergency department setting.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
