Description of the Position:

Community Service Officers play a vital role in supporting Public Safety Officers by assisting with various duties, including:

  • Building Access and Security: CSOs will unlock and lock classrooms as scheduled, ensuring all interior and exterior doors are secured at designated closing times.
  • Safe Walk Transports: CSOs will provide walking escorts for students concerned about personal safety on campus.
  • Parking Assistance: CSOs will respond promptly to visitors requesting parking passes in the Buntrock lot.
  • Community Development: CSOs will foster positive relationships with students, faculty, staff, and visitors by treating others with dignity, courtesy, respect, and concern.

Qualifications:

  • Clean Campus Conduct Record: A clean record is essential for this role.
  • Successful Training Program Completion: CSOs must complete a provided training program.
  • Background Check: A thorough background check, including criminal background checks, reference checks, and verification of work history, is required.
  • Effective Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills are necessary for this position.
  • Organizational Skills: CSOs must possess excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Independence: Ability to work with minimal supervision is essential.
  • Dependability and Responsibility: CSOs must be dependable and responsible.
  • Confidentiality: Ability to handle and safeguard confidential information is required.
