Job Summary:
The Community Service Officer (CSO) plays a vital role in supporting the Public Safety team at St. Olaf College. As a CSO, you will assist Public Safety Officers in their duties, providing a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Building Access and Security: CSOs will unlock and lock classrooms as scheduled, ensuring all interior and exterior doors are secure at designated closing times.
- Safe Walk Transports: CSOs will provide walking escorts for students concerned about personal safety on campus.
- Parking Assistance: CSOs will respond promptly to visitors requesting parking passes in the Buntrock lot.
- Community Development: CSOs will foster positive relationships with students, faculty, staff, and visitors by treating others with dignity, courtesy, respect, and concern.
Qualifications:
- Clean Campus Conduct Record: A clean record is essential for this role.
- Training and Background Check: Successful completion of a provided training program and a background check, which may include criminal background checks and reference checks.
- Communication and Organizational Skills: Effective verbal communication skills and excellent organizational skills are required.
- Dependability and Responsibility: The ability to work with minimal supervision and be dependable and responsible is essential.
