Lead Data Architect

The Lead Data Engineer is responsible for leading the technical architecture and design of SAP Business Warehouses/eHANA solutions. This role ensures aligned data architecture across all projects, enforces design standards, and leads a team of engineers and solution architects in the design, development, and testing of data pipelines to enable Data Visualization and Data Science solutions.
This position requires a self-motivated and results-driven leader who can quickly grasp understanding of source data structures, data models, and relationships between different types of data.
Key Responsibilities- Develop overall design of SAP Business Warehouses/eHANA
- Ensure that the delivery of the projects align to longer-term strategic roadmaps
- Accountable for the overall technical data platform, including sizing, configuration, and needs assessment
- Work with managed services team to ensure proper resolution of critical incidents and enhancements
- Partner with Infrastructure team on performance-related issues and hardware and software upgrades
- Lead and mentor data engineer team members
- Continually assesses impact of emerging SAP data and analytics technologies against strategic business needs
- Ability to quickly grasp understanding of source data structures, data models, and relationships between different types of data
- Develop strong understanding of the data and builds business acumen
- Identify and recommend appropriate continuous improvement opportunities and ensures integrations are automated and have proper exception handling
- Comply with all company policies and procedures
- At least 15 years of professional Information Technology experience
- At least 5 years of extensive SAP Business Warehouse/eHANA experience
- Knowledge of other data warehousing solutions such as Azure SQL, BigQuery, Hadoop, Databricks, or Snowflake, desired
- Willing to stay abreast of industry best practices and trends and - through acquired knowledge- has ability to take advantage of process and system improvement opportunities
- Experience in Consumer Products Industry preferred
- An undergraduate or postgraduate degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering, or a related field is preferred
