Data Architect

As the Principal Data Architect at Columbia Sportswear, you will be responsible for owning the data model/schema in support of the company's analytics. This role will involve working closely with delivery teams and subject matter experts to deliver data warehousing solutions that are reliable, flexible, scalable, and provide low-cost ownership.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and document data assets, ensuring compliance with established modeling standards.
- Participate in the design and development of data warehousing solutions, leveraging Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Data Warehouse, and Azure Analysis Services.
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture to develop and implement enterprise-wide data strategies.
- Provide technical mentoring, guidance, and training to Data and Analytics engineering resources.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience delivering data-centric solutions on warehousing, big data, and cloud platforms.
- 3+ years of experience designing and tuning a Massively Parallel Processing (MPP) environment.
- 3+ years of experience with an Enterprise Reporting Suite, preferably PowerBI or Analysis Services.
- Expertise in SQL and query optimization techniques, as well as data modeling techniques.
