Senior Systems Engineer for Prime Air Drone Propulsion Subsystem

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our Prime Air team, where you will play a key role in the development of our drone propulsion subsystem.
As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for defining, developing, testing, and delivering solutions for our drone's electric propulsion subsystem. This is a unique opportunity to work on a cutting-edge project that combines technical expertise with innovative thinking.
Key Responsibilities- Problem Definition and Solution Development: Break down complex problems into manageable parts, using techniques such as con-ops, use cases, and structural/functional decomposition to clarify needs and align technical teams.
- System Test Campaigns: Drive and prioritize execution of system test campaigns that span lab and field-testing environments, collaborating with subsystem development and test teams.
- System Integration and Evaluation: Develop and communicate system integration and evaluation strategies and plans to support program learning, technical risk reduction, verification, and validation.
- Technical Risk Assessments: Perform technical risk assessments, devise mitigation plans, and create system test strategies to ensure the safe and reliable operation of our drone.
- System Architecture and Design: Propose changes to the system architecture and allocations across multiple sub-systems and components to improve system performance and robustness.
- Collaboration and Communication: Coordinate with other subsystems and design engineers on systems goals and constraints, ensuring seamless integration and effective communication.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Operations Research, Mathematics, Physics, or another STEM discipline.
- Experience: 4+ years of experience in systems engineering, with a focus on electric powertrain and power distribution systems.
- Skills: Experience with eliciting and clarifying business and end-user needs, connecting those needs to system concepts, requirements, and designs. Strong technical collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to colleagues across disciplines.
- Advanced Education: Master's degree or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Additional Experience: 8+ years of experience in integrated system design, with a focus on electric propulsion systems.
- Technical Skills: Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Model-Based Design (e.g., Simulink, SCADE), and safety-critical systems development.
