Job Summary

The Clinical Dietitian is a key member of the Springfield Clinic team, responsible for providing expert nutrition guidance to patients and healthcare professionals. This role requires a strong understanding of nutrition science and the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement personalized nutrition plans for patients with various health conditions, taking into account their medical history, lifestyle, and dietary preferences.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and their families on healthy eating habits, nutrition principles, and disease management.
  • Conduct nutritional assessments and develop plans to address malnutrition, weight management, and other nutrition-related issues.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and guidelines in nutrition and dietetics, and apply this knowledge to improve patient care and outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of nutrition-related policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination and patient satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN).
  • At least one year of clinical experience as a Registered Dietitian, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations and healthcare teams.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in electronic medical records (EMRs) and other healthcare software.
