Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Documentation Specialist to join our team at KimCo Design and Manufacturing. This role is responsible for creating assembly build documentation, communicating customer specifications to production assemblers, and ensuring product quality through thorough documentation.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have previous experience in technical writing or production documentation, electronics manufacturing practices, and strong written and oral communication skills. They will be proficient in MS Excel and Word, with a good understanding of Computer Aided Drafting and Technical Writing. Our ideal candidate will also have a basic understanding of MRP systems and revision control.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create assembly build documentation for use by Production Operators based on customer specifications and established workmanship standards.
  • Specify components based on descriptions and customer requirements in the creation of bills of material for cable assemblies and printed circuit boards.
  • Perform revision control on both internal and external assembly documentation to ensure product is being built to the most current customer specifications.
  • Ensure that the assembly and QA-Test procedures for all assemblies are thoroughly and accurately documented and made available for Production Assemblers, QA/Test, and Shipping personnel.
  • Implement deviation requests and production redlines to existing assembly build documentation.
  • Conduct New Product Introduction Meetings with Production and QA/Test department for new assemblies.
  • Analyze customer drawings and bills of material to identify possible issues and work with the customer to mitigate these issues prior to the production build.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in Technical writing or Production Documentation.
  • Previous experience in Electronics manufacturing practices to include printed circuit boards and cable assemblies.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • High level of proficiency in MS Excel and Word.
  • Good understanding of Computer Aided Drafting and Technical Writing.
  • Basic understanding of MRP systems and revision control.
Salary and Benefits

Our salary range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k), 401(k) matching, dental insurance, health insurance, life insurance, paid time off, and vision insurance.

Schedule

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday.
